The Role We have an incredible opportunity for a Team Lead, Asset Integrity, located in Calgary, AB. In this dynamic role, reporting to the Manager, Technical Services, you will lead a technical team in planning and executing the Asset Integrity Programs which ensure safe, reliable operation of our static assets. The role will include representing PECL to regulatory agencies, such as BCER and TSBC. Your expertise will be pivotal in supporting safe, reliable operations for our thousands of static, piping and pipeline assets located in NE British Columbia.

How You Will Contribute

  • Lead the continuous improvement of, implementation of and budgeting for Asset Integrity programs for pressure equipment, pipelines, and related infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory bodies (e.g. BCER, TSBC), adherence to internal standards (e.g. TSU, PTS) and industry standards (e.g., CSA, ASME, API).
  • Track and report KPIs related to Asset Integrity and determine appropriate actions from the data/reports.
  • Steward risk assessments, failure investigations, and root cause analyses for asset-related incidents, and ensure that review of ITPM is completed for similar assets following a failure.
  • Provide guidance, prioritization and mentorship to team members and cross-functional groups.
  • Drive the team to leverage AI & Data Analytics to improve effectiveness and scalability of the programs
  • Maintain and improve Asset Integrity documentation, including inspection records, performance metrics, and audit findings.
  • Contract & vendor management to execute asset integrity programs (e.g. UT surveys, chemical vendors, P/L ROW surveys, etc.), including reporting of costs and results.
  • Represent the organization in regulatory audits and industry forums.

What You Bring

  • Engineering or technologist, within the Mechanical, Materials, Petroleum or Chemical disciplines.
  • Target 10 years relevant oil and gas experience, ideally with knowledge of Asset Integrity work scope.
  • Proven track record of delivering results (ideally incorporating new ideas/technologies as part of the delivery) and demonstrated ability to lead without authority.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and root cause failure analysis (RCFA), supported by knowledge of typical corrosion/erosion failure modes.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards applicable in Alberta and British Columbia, as well as NACE standards, would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Power BI and data stewardship and reporting tools would be an asset.
