About the Role
Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting the month-end close process, as well as assisting with various ad hoc projects. The General Accountant will also support the Controller in responding to analytical requests from cross-functional partners.
This position is a 15-month contract with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyzing selected balance sheet and income statement accounts on a monthly basis
- Preparing monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations
- Participating in the month-end closing processes
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reports
- Collecting, monitoring and analyzing data to assess accuracy and integrity of various transactions
- Preparing and maintaining financial schedules and worksheets
- Assisting with the preparation of audit schedules for the external auditors
- Assisting and performing various ad hoc projects
Qualifications :
- Completion of an accounting/finance degree
- 3 years involved in full cycle accounting
- Strong numeracy and analytic skills
- Good problem-solving and time management skills
Skills:
- Enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a results-driven, fast-moving environment
- Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP software
- Strong organization, interpersonal and follow-up skills
- Good problem-solving and time management skills
- Proactive, high-energy collaborative approach
