Your Opportunity The Rotman Office of Recruitment, Admissions and Business Development (RABD) recruits and admits talented professionals who aim to push their limits, expand their creativity and develop their leadership potential via one of the School’s nine graduate management programs. The RABD team will achieve this goal using industry-standard best practices in strategic enrolment management.

As an Assistant Director, Admissions & Awards, you will be part of an innovative, dynamic and collaborative team committed to delivering an exceptional experience for prospective candidates of Rotman’s graduate programs. As a senior member of the RABD team, you will be a data-driven team lead who will implement strategies and approaches to assess top talent from domestic and international markets for our suite of graduate programs. With proven technological fluency, you will drive evidence-based and inclusive admission processes to admit exceptional and diverse students.

Your demonstrated ability to inspire, collaborate with and motivate teammates, and maintain relationships with partners across and outside of the University will be critical in advancing the mission of the School to foster an inclusive and welcoming learning environment.

Reporting to the Director, Graduate Programs Admissions & Awards, you will work with colleagues across the RABD portfolio and the Rotman School and be a key contributor to a dynamic and strategic enrolment management -driven recruitment and admissions operation dedicated to shaping the incoming classes of transformational graduate business programs at the University of Toronto.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Reviewing and assessing admissions applications
  • Interviewing program applicants
  • Analyzing, scoring and ranking incoming applications
  • Determining which applications to refer to committee for selection
  • Analyzing statistical information to inform enrollment projections and planning
  • Generating standard reports on awards
  • Keeping well-informed on theories related to equity, diversity and inclusion

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years working in enrollment management, recruitment, admissions, student affairs or a related area, preferably in a graduate business program environment.
  • Demonstrated experience applying fundamental concepts of strategic enrolment management in a higher education admission setting.
  • Experienced in assessing multiple applications and making informed and unbiased recommendations
  • Proficiency in ROSI, a CRM (preferably Salesforce), survey software and Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel
  • A proven track record of effective team management and change leadership resulting in improvements to service quality, staff productivity and systems efficiency is required
  • Strong ability to assess international and domestic credentials, with knowledge on institutional, government, agency and department policies, procedures and guideline
  • Knowledgeable about, university life, student recruitment and admissions including provincial, national and international university and college education systems
  • Excellent analytical and interpretative skills with the ability to understand and apply a large amount of information and complex set of regulations and guidelines with minimal supervision
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure within a rapidly changing environment to meet competing priorities and deadlines
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans in a collaborative manner with input from a widerange of stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze data and measure results based on established goals and objectives
