What we need you to bring.

Horizon is seeking an open, enthusiastic, and experienced Aerospace Supplier Manager to oversee the sourcing, contracting, and performance management of suppliers responsible for delivering major and complex aircraft systems and components for our eVTOL aircraft platform.

This role combines strategic supplier management with technical program oversight, ensuring suppliers deliver high-quality, certifiable aerospace hardware in line with program cost, schedule, and performance requirements. You will play a critical role in shaping our supplier strategy, contractual framework, and industrial partnerships, working closely with engineering, program management, and certification teams to ensure successful integration of supplier-developed aircraft systems.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Lead the identification, sourcing, and selection of suppliers capable of delivering complex aircraft systems, structures, and equipment.
  • Manage the full supplier lifecycle, including RFI/RFQ processes, technical evaluations, negotiations, contract placement, and ongoing supplier performance management.
  • Establish and manage contracts and commercial agreements covering scope of work, deliverables, certification responsibilities, cost, schedule, and risk allocation.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure technical requirements, specifications, and certification expectations are clearly defined and flowed down to suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance across cost, schedule, technical maturity, and quality, implementing mitigation strategies when risks arise.
  • Support supplier integration into the aircraft development program, ensuring alignment with program milestones, testing, and certification activities.
  • Facilitate regular supplier reviews and cross-functional coordination between engineering, program management, quality, and supply chain teams.
  • Develop long-term strategic partnerships with key aerospace suppliers, enabling innovation and efficient delivery of critical aircraft systems.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the aerospace supply base and emerging technologies relevant to advanced air mobility platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement in supplier management processes, contracting strategies, and supply chain resilience.

We are looking for people with demonstrated experience (7+ years) aerospace supplier management, strategic sourcing, or program procurement for complex aerospace systems. You will have;

  • Proven experience managing suppliers responsible for major aircraft components or systems, such as propulsion, avionics, structures, landing gear, or energy systems.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace development programs and certification-driven product development environments.
  • Experience managing RFI/RFQ processes, supplier negotiations, and complex aerospace contracts.
  • Familiarity with certification frameworks and regulatory authorities including Transport Canada Civil Aviation, Federal Aviation Administration, and European Union Aviation Safety Agency.
  • Ability to interpret and manage technical requirements, statements of work, and development deliverables associated with aerospace systems suppliers.
  • Strong commercial acumen combined with the ability to work effectively with engineering and technical teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills for building and maintaining high-performing supplier partnerships.
