Purpose of the Job:

The Training Specialist, under limited supervision, conducts integrated training needs assessments. This person evaluates designs, coordinates and delivers a comprehensive range of training and education programs in field of expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in analyzing and assessing training and development needs for individuals and/or departments in collaboration with the production and/or quality assurance supervisors/managers and Training Coordinator

  • Formulates training outlines and/or syllabus and determines instructional methods based on training needs evaluation such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.

  • Develops and oversees the production and update of manuals, learning materials and courses.

  • Delivers group and individual instruction and training covering a range of technical, operational, and/or management areas in a specified field

  • Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizes relevant evaluation data to:

  • Revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.

  • Ensure incorporation of taught skills and techniques into employees work behaviour.

  • Ensure ongoing programs reflect any changes

  • Trains On-the-job trainers, reviews their performance and recommend improvements to their presentation and training methods

  • Coordinates or performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs

  • Acclimates new hires to the business and conducts orientation sessions

  • Stays abreast of the new trends and tools in employee development

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

Education Qualification (Highest):

  • Bachelor degree in Sciences or equivalent
  • A degree in adult education is an asset

Experience Required:

  • 5 to 8 years of related experience
  • Ability to assess training needs and objectives
  • Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate responsive programs and initiatives including training plans, curricula, and methodology .
  • Knowledge of implementation and facilitation of technical, operational, and/or specialty training events and program.
  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles.
  • Proven ability to master the full training cycle.
  • Teaching and facilitation skills.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of GMPs as well as pharmaceutical experience including sterile and non-sterile manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and in database software.
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Bilingual is essential.
  • Create and update learning plans
  • Create, update and approve learning material
  • Approve Training needs evaluation form
  • Maintain the training database up-to-date
