About The Role Canadian Blood Services is seeking someone with technical manufacturing fundamentals and a people-first leadership approach to join our Supply Chain Operations West team as Manager, Production.

In this role, you will bring hands on experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering, understand lean processes and continuous improvement, and enjoy tackling complex technical challenges. You lead with empathy, view mistakes as opportunities to learn, and are ready to step into a people leadership role—even if you haven’t formally managed a team before.

You also bring a deep understanding of the services sector, strong grounding in GMP and quality systems, confidence in budget management and strategic planning, and the leadership skills needed to guide a high performing team.

Formula for success

  • Lead production and distribution operations across BC and Yukon, ensuring efficiency, safety, and full compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement, strengthen processes, and apply problem solving and business insight to turn opportunities into actionable results.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to enhance workflows, address complex technical challenges, and build a culture grounded in quality, innovation, and inclusive leadership.
  • Lead projects through planning, analysis, recommendations, approval, and deployment to achieve targeted outcomes and strong reporting.

Desired Education And Skills

  • Post secondary education in engineering, science, or a technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience and understanding in manufacturing, production, industrial engineering, or process improvement
  • Experience with process optimization, lean, or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Exposure to manufacture environment, GMP, or quality systems
  • People leadership capability including budget or financial oversight experience

What You Can Expect

  • This role is based at Canadian Blood Services, 4750 Oak St, Vancouver, BC
  • Requirements to be on-site 100% of the time/5 days of the week
  • Travel is required for regional site visits and national meetings

This position must meet the Trustworthiness and Reliability Verification requirements of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and is subject to criminal records and employment verification checks.
