Grey Roots Museum & Archives is looking for a hard-working and dedicated recent-graduate aged 16-30 to assist us in preserving Grey County’s documentary heritage and making it accessible. Grey Roots is home to an Archives, Museum, as well as Moreston Heritage Village for local visitors and travellers.
This job posting is for an existing vacancy. Applications will be accepted until Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
Position: Archival Intern
Wage: $24.74
Duration: Tuesday, September 8 to Thursday, December 24, 2026, 35 hours/week
Location: Grey Roots Museum & Archives (102599 Grey Road 18, RR4, Owen Sound, ON N4K 5N6)
Duties
- Inventory, arrangement and description of archival holdings
- Research and writing tasks
- Work with images
- Digitization and preservation
- Serving the public
- Other duties as required
Job Requirements:
- Good communication skills
- Good research skills
- Creative
- Detail-oriented
- Good computer skills
- Good customer service skills
Ideal candidates have pursued studies in relevant disciplines (information management, archival or library studies), are punctual and possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong organization skills. The selected candidate will be responsible, able to follow directions well, and demonstrate an ability to work with minimal supervision. A keen interest in local history is also an asset. Necessary training and support will be provided. Overtime, evening and weekend hours may be required. To qualify for this position, candidates must have graduated from a college, CEGEP, or university.
