Position Summary:

Development and facilitation of food experimentation activities (assist during food lab, help guide students and answer their questions, engage in activities and make the learning experience richer , help prepare purchase orders for each lab and assist in reception and storage of material, help prepare pre-required materials or products prior to the food lab, if needed) .

  • Grading of food experimentation activity submissions: videos, photos, power points, summaries, as required.

Exam Assistance : Attend, be responsible for in-class exams and/or answering questions, making corrections, and/or delivering exam materials

  • Grading of assignments, and short answer questions of the final exam.
  • Facilitation of online group activities in Zoom break-out rooms (Only if needed).

Qualifications:

Knowledge of food preparation and safety.
Have taken NUTR 214 and/or 217 or equivalent food courses with laboratories.

Ability to develop accurate standardized recipes.

FST and food lab WHMIS training.
An interest in working with undergraduate students.
Effective discussion and negotiation skills.
Good time management for a quick turnover of assignments.
A nutrition degree is an asset.
Language requirement: English.

Ability to mark assignments submitted in French is an asset.
