Position Summary:
A Logistics Coordinator facilitates communication between Sales/Customer Service , Production and the Customer to promote a healthy cost efficient Supply Chain. This position is vital to achieving Saand’s target for On Time Delivery of complete orders to their customers and to consistently reviewing shipping process and look for improvement opportunities.The successful candidate must possess superior scheduling and multitasking abilities to manage high-volume daily driver runs, inventory movements, and real-time troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities****include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage, Track & Print orders as required.
- Prepare Custom Paperwork as required
- Attend/Participate in morning Departmental meetings to gather information needed to effectively plan shipments
- Proactively plan shipments by booking site appointments and ensure necessary contact information is available for the drivers
- Proactively work with the Supervisor to ensure Transportation equipment & driver needs are adequate daily.
- Maintain receiving log and ensures timely entry of all transactions into receiving software, goal is within 2 hours of physical receipt.
- Assist in weekly cycle counts, Monthly & Year End Physical Inventory Counts
- Monitor Driver Performance & Communication with Customers, feedback delays or issues to the Department Supervisor and Manager.
- Takes incoming calls from drivers and solves their issue or escalates to the Supervisor
- Prepares and follows up on Freight Claims as required for damage caused by carriers
- Responds to Jira Complaints issued to the Logistics Department.
- Coordination with Drivers, scheduling delivery routes
- Reporting accidents, accommodation(if needed)
- Overseeing skid storage in the plant and their designated area (scanned). Dealing with recycle program and emptying the glass bins.
Required Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience
High School and 3 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Business Administration or Logistics/Supply Chain Management an asset. Minimum of three years experience working in Logistics of a Manufacturing company required.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisor.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
