About the Role

The CM Sr. Associate role is responsible for the Configuration Management (CM) activities, which ensure that all CM functions relative to identification, configuration change, status accounting and audits are maintained in accordance with contractual requirements, CM practices, and QA standards.

The CM Sr Associate will facilitate all CM boards such as ECA (Enterprise Change Assessment), CRB (Change Review Board) and CIB (Change Implementation Board) as required. The CM specialist must be capable of supporting the analysis of a proposed Enterprise Change Request (ECR), and the implementation of approved ECRs to be incorporated into the product.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process and evaluate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Change Orders (ECOs), and Variance Requests (RFVs).
  • Conduct impact analysis on ECRs to ensure thorough development from a Configuration Management perspective.
  • Plan, schedule, and lead cross-functional Configuration Review Board (CRB), Change Implementation Board (CIB), and Enterprise Change Activities (ECA) meetings as required.
  • Develop detailed change implementation plans and schedules for approved changes.
  • Maintain accurate product configuration traceability and update As-Built records based on change effectivity.
  • Apply approved RFVs to As-Built records.
  • Collaborate with the Program Management Office to address special customer configuration requirements and ensure proper documentation for review/approval.
  • Provide regular CM process guidance and support to internal customers, addressing priorities and resolving issues.
  • Support Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA) as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of department goals and projects.
  • Work with a continuous improvement mindset and support organizational initiatives.

Key Skills:

  • Knowledge of Configuration Management principles, standards (e.g., EIA-649), and processes.

  • Proficient in handling engineering documentation and overseeing change management processes.

  • Ability to analyze complex data and provide clear recommendations or solutions.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage cross-department interactions.

  • Strong computer skills with experience using the Microsoft suite of tools.

  • Experience in SQL and Python for data query and analysis an asset

  • Working knowledge of PLM and ERP tools.

Desired Education and Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0-2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years prior related experience.
  • CMII or CMPIC certification or other CM related Certification an asset;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods Program clearance
