About the role

Your Opportunity at Arc’teryx:

As the Product Manager, Merchandising & Product Lifecycle Technology, you will be responsible for owning the complete product lifecycle of a technology product, to enable Merchant, Design & Product Creation teams to create the best products & assortments for the mountain athlete. Your responsibilities include delivering the strategic product roadmap from discovery, design, vendor selection, delivery, and support. You lead through influence of a cross-functional agile product squad to create and execute the 12–18 month roadmap. and oversee budget and resource allocation, You will be responsible for a product's lifecycle from cradle to grave working closely with business stakeholders, development teams and/or vendors. This includes responsibility for the management of the product backlog, resourcing, work intake & prioritization, process alignment and issue resolution.

Meet Your Future Team:
The Merchandising and Product Lifecycle Technology team is within the Technology department and is responsible for the strategy and ongoing development of Arc’teryx’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform (Centric).

Our team builds and supports the systems that help turn Arc’teryx product ideas into real products, from early concept through sourcing and delivery. We connect merchandising, design, development, and supply chain so the right information moves with the product at every stage. Put simply, we help make sure great product ideas become great Arc’teryx products at scale.

If you were the Product Manager, Merchandising & Product Lifecycle Technology now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Completing product lifecycle, including implementation, maintenance, and end-of-life. Planning version management, continuous improvement, including security management, version & patch management, and production support
  • Leading the cross functional product squad team of engineers, business analysts and quality assurance in the execution of the roadmap and vision ensuring tracking and timely delivery of milestones and alignment with business goals and objectives
  • Collaborating efficiently and effectively by building strong relationships with several cross-functional teams within the overall technology department and across the business
  • Partnering with the business product owner perform discovery research and provide input to the longer-term vision for a single product strategy
  • Partnering closely with business product owner to prioritize the product backlog and new backlog intake
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insights to optimize financial planning for the product. Monitor and control the cost of executing the roadmap, optimizing resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
  • Managing vendor relationships that support your technology products, ensuring alignment with contractual agreements and service‑level expectations, and supporting the RFP/procurement process in partnership with the Senior Product Manager
  • Developing empathy for the guest/end-user by having the ability to incorporate Human Centered Design and guest journey mapping. Prioritizing a continuous flow of feature backlog and aligning with product strategy
  • Delivering regular and comprehensive product status reports and communication plans to all product stakeholders and senior leaders
  • Executing day‑to‑day product strategy for a single product and delivering sprint commitments in full
  • Ensuring risk and issue management by maintaining a RAID log and adopting an effective mitigation strategy. Escalating these in a timely manner and proposing recommendations to portfolio steerco for decision making
  • Preparing and coordinating system changes for release, organize product demo sessions to gather feedback from the stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Utilizing your experience and expertise to contribute specialized process improvement initiatives in the product management guild

Are you our next Product Manager, Merchandising & Product Lifecycle Technology?

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in Information Technology, Business or a related field
  • You have 3+ years of experience as a Project or Product Manager/Owner
  • You have 3+ years of experience leading a team with diverse skill sets
  • You have demonstrated success working in an agile methodology
  • You have a Scrum certification (CSM, CSPO, etc.)
  • You have implemented PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system features, upgrades and migrations
  • You have experience in the within the apparel/gear/footwear/fashion industry
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of stakeholders
  • You have an exceptional ability to collaborate and contribute as a team player, and the ability to build strong, positive relationships within your team, and cross functionally.
  • You have excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to explain, articulate, and document concepts, frameworks and requirements
  • You have strong organization and prioritization skills while managing multiple, competing priorities
  • You have excellent time management skills with the ability to plan ahead and meet deadlines
  • You possess a high level of analytical and critical thinking
  • You have strong facilitation, diplomacy, and leadership skills
  • You have experience coaching and mentoring in an agile development environment
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You are able to balance autonomy and collaboration
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
  • You seek the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right

Compensation:

  • The salary range for this role is CAD$108,000 - CAD$142,000

This range reflects market alignment and the scope of the role. Individual pay is determined by your skills, experience, and level of responsibility.
