Your Opportunity
BDO Consulting is expanding its Technology Consulting practice in British Columbia and is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Technology Consulting – Application & AI Engineering to help grow our local market presence and build our AI Engineering practice. Our AI Engineering practice includes modern application engineering, AI-enabled software delivery, systems integration, and engineering transformation, helping clients modernize enterprise technology and deliver better business outcomes. This is an opportunity for a consulting leader who enjoys combining executive advisory, business development, practice leadership, and client delivery. Working closely with our BC Technology Consulting leadership team, you will help build trusted executive relationships, lead complex technology transformation engagements, develop our consulting capabilities, and mentor the next generation of consultants. We are looking for business advisors with strong technology consulting credibility—leaders who can help executives shape transformation strategies while successfully leading complex technology-enabled initiatives from strategy through implementation. This role offers the opportunity to help shape one of BDO's fastest-growing consulting practices while building toward increasingly senior leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Market Growth & Client Development Develop trusted relationships with senior business and technology executives across British Columbia. Identify, qualify, and develop new consulting opportunities across existing and prospective clients. Lead business development activities including proposals, RFP responses, executive presentations, workshops, and client pursuits. Collaborate across BDO service lines to develop integrated client solutions that address broader business transformation opportunities. Represent BDO within the local market through networking, industry events, and thought leadership activities. Help establish and grow BDO's Technology Consulting presence across the BC market.
Client Advisory & Delivery Leadership
Lead complex technology consulting engagements from strategy through implementation. Serve as Engagement Manager, Program Director, Technology Advisor, Architecture Lead, or Executive Sponsor depending on client needs. Advise executive stakeholders on technology strategy, application modernization, AI adoption, engineering transformation, and delivery approaches. Provide executive oversight across multidisciplinary delivery teams while ensuring quality, governance, commercial performance, risk management, and client satisfaction.
Lead consulting engagements across areas such as
Enterprise application modernization AI-enabled business solutions Custom application development Systems integration Enterprise architecture Intelligent automation Software engineering transformation Modern engineering operating models Practice Leadership Help shape the future direction and growth of BDO's AI Engineering practice in British Columbia. Develop new consulting offerings, methodologies, accelerators, and reusable delivery assets. Support practice planning, forecasting, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with national Technology Consulting and AI Engineering leaders to bring the firm's full capabilities to clients. JB> Act as the internal champion for AI across the BC Technology Consulting practice by driving AI strategy, promoting responsible AI adoption, and enabling teams through playbooks, training, and practical implementation standards. People Leadership

You will typically bring
10+ years of consulting, advisory, or technology transformation experience with significant client-facing responsibilities. Experience within a leading consulting organization, with Big Four consulting experience considered a strong asset. Demonstrated success developing trusted relationships with CIOs, CTOs, senior technology leaders, and business executives. Proven business development experience including proposal development, RFP responses, executive presentations, account planning, and pursuit leadership. Experience leading complex consulting engagements from strategy through implementation. Experience managing multidisciplinary consulting teams while coaching and developing future leaders. Strong commercial acumen including engagement financial management, delivery governance, quality management, and risk mitigation. Exceptional executive communication, facilitation, presentation, and relationship-building skills. The ability to translate complex technology concepts into practical business outcomes for executive audiences. JB > Experience leading production AI-enabled applications, not just AI-assisted delivery. Technical Consulting Experience

Preferred Qualifications
Experience helping build or scale a consulting practice or service offering. Existing executive relationships within the British Columbia market. Experience delivering consulting services across industries such as Financial Services, Public Sector, Energy & Utilities, Mining, Transportation, Healthcare, Technology, or other key BC industries. Professional certifications such as PMP, TOGAF, SAFe, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, or comparable architecture and engineering certifications. Experience with Agile delivery, DevSecOps, platform engineering, AI-assisted software delivery, enterprise modernization, or modern engineering practices.

This is more than a delivery leadership role. You will play a foundational role in growing BDO's AI Engineering practice in British Columbia. Beyond leading client engagements, you will help shape our market strategy, build executive client relationships, develop new consulting offerings, recruit and mentor talented professionals, and influence the evolution of one of BDO's fastest-growing Technology Consulting practices. Success in this role requires balancing market development, client delivery, and practice leadership. While priorities will evolve as the practice continues to grow, the role will typically include approximately: 30% Business Development & Client Relationships 20% Practice, People & Capability Leadership 50% Client Advisory & Delivery Leadership The expected range of compensation for this role is $138,000 - $230,000 annually.
