About the role
The Granite Club is looking for a full time Head Pickleball Professional to oversee the Pickleball Program and implement policies and procedures. They will be promoting the game of pickleball to the Club membership by providing comprehensive programming for all levels, ages, and abilities. The Head Pickleball Professional is responsible for the delivery of instructional, competitive, and social opportunities, including lessons, clinics, leagues, tournaments, team coaching, special events, and the continued growth and development of pickleball at the Club.

Primary Responsibilities
- To provide quality pickleball programs utilizing clearly defined adult and junior development pathways.
- To teach and ensure that qualified staff or contract professionals teach all pickleball programs.
- To oversee and ensure structure in the delivery of leagues, ladders, round robins, club championships, tournaments, and special events.
- To oversee the total Pickleball Program and implement policies and procedures.
- To recommend programs and initiatives that support the continued growth of pickleball at the Club and future campus facilities.
- To be responsible for the training, supervision, mentoring, and performance management of staff associated with the Pickleball Program, including professional, administrative, and control staff.
- To work with carrying out the administrative functions of the Pickleball Section, including scheduling, communications, reporting, and record keeping.
- To assist with the promotion of all pickleball programs, activities, and events through appropriate Club communication channels.
- To coordinate and administer all aspects of pickleball league play, ladders, round robins, championships, tournaments, and “away” competitions or training camps.
- To attend Athletic Department and Racquets Department meetings as required.
- To identify budget requirements and to be accountable for managing program expenses, including completing regular cost analyses of all programs.
- To provide a written annual report to management outlining the activities, participation levels, and performance of the Pickleball Program.
- To work closely with the Pickleball Committee, attending quarterly meetings and providing guidance, support, and direction in accordance with approved procedures.
- To be responsible for liaising with the Past Convener to assist in filling Pickleball Committee vacancies, including recommending nominees for approval.
- To oversee the planning and delivery of pickleball social events, exhibitions, Pro-Ams, and special functions, and to be present at these events as required.
- To ensure that Club rules pertaining to dress code, court usage, etiquette, guest policies, and general Club House Rules are consistently enforced.
- To foster and maintain positive working relationships between pickleball staff, other racquets professionals, members, and Club departments.
- To work with the Facilities Department to ensure pickleball courts and associated spaces (including interim shared-use facilities) are maintained to Club standards.
- To collaborate with planning and development of future pickleball facilities, including expansion initiatives.
- To ensure all pickleball equipment is maintained to a high standard, fully replenished, and updated as required.
- To ensure the cleanliness and organization of pickleball courts, office space, storage areas, and ball sheds on a daily basis.
- To ensure all trophies and awards are ordered, engraved, maintained, and that recognition boards or media displays are kept current.
- To contribute to Granite News, digital communications, and website content to ensure timely and effective promotion of the pickleball program.
- To maintain a high level of communication with other clubs and relevant sport governing bodies.
- To maintain current professional certification through ongoing professional development, including First Aid and CPR.
- To assist, as required, with the promotion of Granite Gear operations.
- Ensure safe facilities and a safe environment for members, staff, and guests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- NCCP Level 2 certification (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience as a pickleball professional or program leader
- Strong communication, public relations, and organizational skills
- Proven leadership ability with a collaborative and member-focused approach
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with scheduling or court booking systems
- Excellent oral and written English
- Current First Aid / CPR certification
Compensation The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000. This role is eligible for commissions based on terms and conditions.
