About the role

Responsibilities

· Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, Robots, Vision Systems, and other control devices

· Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to identify and resolve issues

· Evaluate existing systems and processes to identify areas for improvement

· Collaborate with cross functional teams, including production, engineering and quality to implement process changes and ensure seamless integration

· Utilize data analysis techniques to identify trends, troubleshoot issues and make data driven decisions to optimize manufacturing processes

· Lead root cause analysis investigations to address process deviations, quality issues and equipment failures

· Day to day troubleshooting of equipment or production process complaints and concerns

· Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on automation systems and equipment

· Assist in training junior automation technicians

Qualifications

· A post-secondary Engineering degree, diploma or equivalent

· Minimum of 5 years' experience with automated equipment

· PLC, HMI, & Servo programming experience with Allen-Bradley hardware

· Robot programming (ABB, Fanuc)

· Vision programming (Cognex & Keyence)

· Knowledge of industrial networks

· Strong programming, mechanical and electrical problem-solving skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
