About the role
As an Electrical Panel Assembler, you will fit and assemble components according to engineering diagrams, wiring schematics and work instructions to build electrical panels for heavy forestry equipment. To excel in this role, a combination of technical skills is required, including problem solving and mechanical/electrical aptitude.
Location: 40 Consolidated Drive, Paris, ON
Dedicated Shift: 7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday
Job Duties
- Assemble electrical panels, instrumentation, and devices according to detailed schematics, wire lists, and bill-of-materials.
- Read and follow engineering diagrams, electrical schematics and work instructions to install components, connect cables, tubes and wiring components
- Manually position or align electrical components such as box, relay, terminal rail and dill blox for assembly
- Use both hand, power and electrical tools like wire strippers and hand crimpers
- Check mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies for alignment and proper functioning
- Test and check electrical assemblies and wiring for proper connections
- Complete rework, repair, and/or replace damaged parts when required
- Perform quality checks on all work prior to completion
Skills and Experience
- Ability to adapt to a changing work environment, handle competing demands, and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Assembly tasks require collaboration with coworkers; effective communication and reasoning skills are essential when working on projects that involve multiple team members.
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve effectively and efficiently
- Physical requirements include a good level of manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination, strength such as pulling, pushing, lifting and/or moving objects as well as standing and sitting.
Qualifications
- Experience in reading wiring schematics and mechanical blueprints
- Proven mechanical abilities in electrical and electronic systems, including schematics and diagnostics.
- Education in areas such as electrical or electro-mechanical technology is an asset.
- Preferred training within areas of interest: electronics, mechanical drawing, science, mathematics, and computer technology.
