Role Description The Director of Transportation is a full-time, on-site role based in Georgetown, ON, responsible for overseeing all transportation operations within Kuthala Transport. This role leads planning and execution of daily trucking activities, including routing, scheduling, dispatch, and load optimization for truckload, LTL, intermodal, and trans-border services. The Director ensures regulatory compliance, safety standards, and quality service while managing fleet performance, maintenance coordination, and utilization. They will develop and manage transportation budgets, monitor key performance indicators, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability. The Director of Transportation also collaborates closely with internal teams and customers to resolve service issues, support strategic initiatives, and contribute to long-term growth of the transportation division. Qualifications Strong Transportation Planning and Transportation Management skills to design efficient routes, schedules, and operational processes. Demonstrated Fleet Management experience, including maintenance coordination, asset utilization, safety compliance, and performance monitoring. Proven Customer Service capabilities to build relationships, manage expectations, and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner. Solid Budgeting skills with experience managing operating costs, analyzing financial performance, and supporting profitability targets. Several years of progressive leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, ideally in trucking or fleet-based operations. Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and cross-border compliance requirements in North America. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to use data and KPIs to drive improvements. Effective communication and people management skills, with experience leading diverse teams and fostering a culture of accountability and safety. Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
