This position works alongside staff and volunteers receiving and processing donations of goods at the receiving door. This position will work closely with the Manager and Production Coordinator to maintain a flow of goods. This position is required to work Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Donation Centre Manager, assume some of the responsibility for day to day receiving & distributing of items at the Donation Centre.
- Help donors empty their vehicles or help to load sold items into their cars.
- Thank donors for their items or politely telling them if we are unable to accept their items. (Try to explain why in a courteous manner)
- Helping MCC Alberta by accepting “Material Resource” donations – loading onto the lift or informing them of donations.
- Driving 16’ cube van
- Presort donations from bags and boxes into apple boxes by categorizing them (books, shoes, etc.)
- Janitorial duties – emptying all shop garbage receptacles as well as those in front of the store outside, sweeping, and mopping floors when needed.
- Help the clerks on the sales floor when needed.
- Helping with cashing out and closing shop, as required. (making sure doors are locked, customers gone and sign is turned off, cleaning front area of the Shop).
- Attending to requests from customers and volunteers.
- No heavy lifting over 30lbs.
- Ensure work area of the Donation Centre is clean, organized, keeping the fire exits, passageways and work areas clear of debris and safety hazards..
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Base salary: $18.86

This position is physically demanding, requiring extended periods of time standing on a concrete floor, a lot of lifting overhead and hauling boxes.
Location Description
Lethbridge is the commercial, financial, transportation and industrial center of southern Alberta. The city's economy developed from drift mining for coal in the late 19th century and agriculture in the early 20th century. Half of the workforce is employed in the health, education, retail and hospitality sectors, and the top five employers are government-based. The only university in Alberta south of Calgary is in Lethbridge, and two of the three colleges in southern Alberta have campuses in the city.
