Wage: $47.83
Knowledge and Experience:
-
Journeyman Technician Certification (Truck & Transport/Commercial Transport, Heavy Duty, Automotive)
-
Apprentices (all levels) could be considered
-
Valid Driver’s License (Class 5 with an air brake endorsement)
-
CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License desired
-
Experience working on transit vehicles, highway motor coaches, mini buses, and automotive fleets
Skills:
-
Analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
-
Ability to read and understand parts and service manuals in English
-
Proficient with computer equipment
-
Health & Safety Knowledge – OH&S rules and regulations guidelines
-
Ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment
-
Ability to suggest areas for additional training and assist with training of apprentices
Key Accountabilities:
Fleet Maintenance
-
Perform daily maintenance of the Transit fleet
-
Diagnose equipment problems
-
Perform preventative maintenance
-
Perform government Inspections (CVIP)
-
Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs
-
Respond to on-road breakdowns on rare occasions
Shop Operations
-
Work with Shop Management to maintain schedules and priorities
-
Follow procedures and guidelines
-
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
Training and Development
-
Suggest areas for additional training and assist with training of apprentices
-
Attend company training programs as required [Sub accountability 3]
