The Opportunity

We are currently seeking aProduction Supervisor (Planner/Scheduler)to join ourTotten Mineteam in Sudbury, Ontario.

This is apermanent on-siteposition. The work schedule isrotating shift work on a 5-4 schedule (days and nights). This posting is for an existing position vacancy.

The Production Supervisor (Planner/Scheduler) manages production targets and technical processes to ensure safe, reliable, efficient, and high‑quality operations. The role focuses on improving crew performance through established processes, procedures, and work‑management practices. The Supervisor is responsible for planning and scheduling work and providing crew supervision when relief is required. A key objective is maintaining operational control, responding to variances, and addressing issues or opportunities as they arise. The incumbent also ensures all personnel meet legislative requirements, company policies, practices, and collective agreements whenever relief or compliance issues occur.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Manage production systems to achieve Zero Harm, meet quality and quantity targets, control costs, and develop effective planned work packages.
  • Execute the full “Plan Work” process, including reviewing daily work orders, planning approved tasks before Required‑By Dates, and incorporating crew input.
  • Identify and escalate critical issues affecting schedule success, minimize operational impacts, and use templates and tools to improve planning efficiency.
  • Coordinate materials, supplies, and SAP work management activities, including supply delivery, weekly planning, short‑interval control, and crew review updates.
  • Provide crew relief by leading risk management discussions, ensuring HomeSafe behaviors, assigning tasks, resolving issues, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Apply all policies, procedures, and Work Management practices; monitor shift progress, complete reports, communicate with cross‑shifts, and take corrective actions.
  • Control inventory, manage overtime within guidelines, maintain employee qualifications, schedule training, and handle coaching, discipline, and grievance matters.
  • Collaborate with peers on production and capital schedules, maintain ongoing technical and procedural knowledge, and provide Superintendent relief when required.

About You

Education:

  • Grade 12 completed or GED equivalency with equivalent experience is required.
  • Generic Supervisor Common Core (770141), First Line Underground Mine Supervisor Common Core (770121), or Common Core for First Line Production Supervisor Underground Hard Rock Mining (770120) is an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience as a Planner/ Scheduler.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products, SAP, and Prometheus add-on.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in production planning/ scheduling is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supervising and leading teams with best work practices.
  • Experience in a mining plant or heavy industry is an asset.

Skills:

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
  • Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
