Northern Gateway Public Schools invites applications for a Part-time (0.92 FTE) Teacher Assistant at Oscar Adolphson Primary School, Valleyview, AB.

Successful candidate responsibilities:

• Working with students one-on-one & in small groups in a Kindergarten classroom

Teacher Assistants Qualifications**:**

• Educational Assistant Certificate (desirable)
• Early Childhood training and experience (desirable)

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Establish rapport and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents and staff
• Work collaboratively and co-operatively with teacher and other educational assistants in the classroom/school
• Work collaboratively with service provides such has Speech-Language Pathologist, Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist
• Willingness to support students with toileting needs
• Ability to support students' with varying social-emotional needs
• Understand and carry out oral and written direction
• Work independently with minimal instruction
• Demonstrate effective organizational and communication skills
• Respect confidentiality
• Practice professionalism with all OAP School students, staff, administration, parents and public
• Be aware of NGPS policies and administrative procedures

Hours of Work:

• 6 hours per day/5 days per week

Wage Rate:

• $18.90/hour - $27.17/hour depending on qualifications and experience
