About the role

POSITION OVERVIEW Field personnel within our Installation Division at DESA Glass is a hands-on trade role responsible for service activities related to the installation, replacement, and service of commercial doors, sealed units and other building envelope components. This role includes ensuring the timely and efficient resolution of installation-related issues and acting as a point of contact for clients, ensuring that their expectations are met and that all service work complies with company standards and safety regulations. This position plays a critical role in the success of installation projects, fostering strong client relationships, and maintaining a high level of service quality. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES · Ensure that requests are handled promptly and professionally. · Install glass, doors, curtain walls, and other glazing systems on commercial and residential projects according to detailed specifications and drawings. Ensure proper alignment, secure attachment, and a professional finish. · Serve as a point of contact for clients, ensuring that all installation-related service requests are addressed and completed in a timely and satisfactory manner. · Work closely with project managers, team members, and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution of installation processes. Communicate project requirements and resolve issues on-site as needed. · Ensure all work meets company quality standards and adheres to design specifications, client requirements, and regulatory codes. · Follow all safety protocols during installation and handling of glass and materials. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and work in compliance with company safety policies. · Maintain accurate service records, documenting client requests, service outcomes, and any issues encountered during service operations. · Continuously assess and improve service processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase client satisfaction. · Conduct site inspections and assessments for installation service requests, determining the appropriate course of action. · Monitor service inventory, ensuring that parts and tools are available and stocked. · Ensure safety protocols are strictly followed during service work. In your role you will: · Prioritize safety by adhering to all company safety guidelines and industry regulations. · Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize risk and injury. · Follow proper lifting and handling techniques for heavy glass and materials to prevent accidents and damage. · Participate in safety training programs and conduct regular safety checks on job sites to maintain a safe working environment. · Report safety concerns or hazards to the supervisor and address potential issues immediately. Required Experience · 3+ years of service-based work within glazing industry · 3+ years of installing/repairing commercial doors in the field (Experience with DESA Systems preferred). REQUIRED SKILLS · Communication · Customer Service · High attention to detail · Time management Preferred · Journeyman Certification. · Experience working on high traffic construction sites. · Understanding of drawings, specifications, and construction schedules.
