Senior Construction Manager
About the role
A leading organization is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to support the delivery of a high level commercial office fit up. This is a significant capital project valued at $50M+, expected to run over approximately 2 to 3 years. The successful candidate will have a strong background delivering complex commercial construction and workplace projects, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, lead project teams, and drive successful project outcomes from planning through completion.
You will oversee the full project lifecycle, including procurement, planning, construction, stakeholder management, and project closeout. You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This role is ideal for a seasoned project leader who thrives in complex environments and has experience managing large-scale corporate office interiors.
Key Responsibilities
Lead construction delivery for a large-scale, multi-phase commercial office fit out project Oversee day-to-day construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to quality expectations Manage construction scope, schedule, cost control, risks, and overall project performance Coordinate and manage relationships with general contractors, consultants, trades, vendors, landlords, tenants, and key stakeholders Support procurement activities including RFPs, RFQs, tendering, bid reviews, and contractor/vendor selection Provide construction oversight across various delivery models, including lump sum and construction management approaches Review and manage construction contracts, agreements, change orders, and project documentation Monitor site progress, identify risks, resolve issues, and implement solutions to maintain project momentum Lead construction meetings, reporting, and project updates with senior stakeholders Support and mentor project team members throughout the construction lifecycle
Qualifications & Experience
8+ years of experience managing commercial construction, workplace, or interior fit out projects Proven experience delivering complex projects with individual values of $10M+ Strong background overseeing large-scale corporate office renovations and commercial interiors Experience managing general contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and construction partners Strong understanding of construction contracts, including CCDC 5B and CCDC 2 Experience with construction procurement, tendering, bid analysis, and contractor selection processes Ability to manage complex stakeholder environments and multiple project priorities Strong communication, leadership, organization, and presentation skills Familiarity with BSDQ is considered an asset Bilingual French and English is preferred
