We are seeking apassionate and highly organized Career Services & Practicum Coordinatorto join our growing team. This role supports students’ career development and academic journey while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and organizational excellence.
##Role Overview
Reporting to the Student Services Manager, the Career Services & Practicum Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting students’ career development, academic progress, and connections to campus and community resources. This position requires a balance of career advising expertise, coordination skills, administrative proficiency, and strong interpersonal abilities.
##Key Responsibilities
##Career Advising
- Provide personalized career counseling to help students explore career paths, understand strengths and interests, and set achievable career goals.
- Conduct career assessments to aid students in making informed decisions about their future.
- Offer guidance on resume and cover letter writing, job search strategies, and interview preparation.
- Develop and implement career development programs and workshops tailored to student needs.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and inclusivity when advising students from diverse backgrounds.
##Internship & Practicum Coordination
- Collaborate with employers, faculty, and industry partners to create meaningful internship opportunities.
- Guide students through internship applications, interviews, and workplace expectations.
- Manage practicum placements, ensuring program compliance and effective communication between students and employers.
- Track high volumes of student inquiries and communications related to placements and internships.
##Industry Engagement & Networking
- Maintain knowledge of current employment trends and relevant industry developments.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers, alumni, and industry professionals to create networking opportunities.
- Organize career fairs, networking events, and professional development workshops.
- Represent the institution in a professional, outgoing manner at career fairs, networking events, and employer meetings.
##Campus & Community Collaboration
- Collaborate effectively with internal campus departments to ensure coordinated student support and service delivery.
- Work with community organizations and external partners to promote career services and student success initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between students and campus and community resources to maximize outcomes.
- Maintain clear, professional, and timely internal team communication.
##Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions, practicum, and career service outcomes.
- Use databases and tracking systems to monitor student progress and program effectiveness.
- Generate reports to assess services and support strategic improvements.
- Manage and organize high volumes of emails and student records with strong attention to detail.
##Professionalism & Student Support Responsibilities
- Maintain discretion and integrity in handling sensitive student and organizational information.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and build rapport with students, staff, and management.
- Apply attention to detail in documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping.
- Exhibit adaptability in managing evolving processes and priorities.
- Identify issues, propose practical solutions, and support process improvement initiatives.
- Provide responsive, supportive service to students, faculty, and leadership teams.
- Collaborate effectively across departments to achieve organizational and student-centered goals.
- Maintain an outgoing, approachable, and professional demeanor when engaging with students and stakeholders.
##Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Student Services Manager to support students and organizational objectives.
