About the role
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Chemical process technology. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Metal products manufacturing company. Heavy machinery manufacturing. Industrial facility or establishment. Blasting. Tasks: Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products. Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually . Immerse metal products in cleaning solutions. Clean machines and immediate work areas. Read and interpret work orders. Inspect products at various stages of processing to ensure adherence to specifications. Measuring tools: Gauges. Micrometers. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Fast-paced environment.
