Your New Role
As a Construction Administrator based in Toronto, you will play a key role during the construction phase of projects. Acting as a liaison between internal teams, clients, contractors, and consultants, you will help ensure that construction is executed in accordance with design intent, specifications, and quality standards. You will attend site meetings, conduct field reviews, monitor construction progress, and identify potential issues or coordination conflicts. The role also involves reviewing RFIs, change orders, shop drawings, and progress claims while supporting project closeout activities. This position requires strong knowledge of either mechanical or electrical building systems, with exposure to both considered a strong asset. You will be working on multiple projects simultaneously, contributing to high-quality delivery and client satisfaction. What You'll Need to Succeed
Qualifications & Experience:
Educational background in mechanical or electrical engineering, construction, or building systems (or related discipline) Intermediate experience in construction administration, consulting engineering, or MEP contracting Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical distribution, lighting, controls) Experience with field reviews and construction inspections Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents Experience reviewing RFIs, shop drawings, change documentation, and deficiency lists Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit (considered an asset) Knowledge of construction practices, document control systems, and project coordination tools Core Competencies: Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities Problem-solving and proactive issue identification Attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities Team-oriented with a client-focused mindset Additional Requirement: Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle
