About the role:
We are actively seeking a Senior Specialist, Mill Maintenance to join the Côté Gold Mine Site, reporting to the Manager of Mill Maintenance. The Senior Specialist, Mill Maintenance, is a pivotal role dedicated to ensuring the sustained reliability, integrity, and optimal performance of mill assets during continuous operation. This role transcends routine maintenance by focusing on proactive strategies that minimize downtime, enhance equipment lifespan, and mitigate production risks. The specialist serves as a technical authority, providing expert guidance in job scoping, meticulously planning resource allocation in collaboration with the planning department, and conducting in-depth failure analysis to prevent recurrence.
This role will be based on our Cote Gold Mine Site (Gogama, ON), on a 14 on 14 off schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Risk Management: Develop the maintenance business risk register and contingency plans, utilizing ACR and RPN methodologies to prioritize mill assets.
- Technical Job Scoping: Conduct detailed evaluations to define work scopes and create comprehensive work packages and procedures for the planning department.
- Resource & Schedule Optimization: Collaborate with planners to optimize manpower, tools, and spares while aligning schedules to minimize production downtime.
- Advanced Failure Analysis: Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Weibull analysis to identify equipment failure patterns and implement corrective actions.
- Reliability Program Oversight: Direct the predictive and preventive maintenance programs, championing condition monitoring and data-driven failure prevention.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Directly manage and mentor Reliability and Lubrication Technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Asset Integrity Compliance: Ensure all maintenance practices meet industry standards and regulations while maintaining historical data to refine the maintenance program.
- Continuous Improvement: Facilitate RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) events and integrate emerging technologies to improve maintenance processes and asset reliability.
QualificationsKey Skills & Knowledge:
- Relevant mechanical trade, technologist, or engineering degree in mechanics.
- Certification in the field of education (Red Seal, PEO, etc.).
- CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) certification is highly desirable
Relevant Experience:
- 10+ years of related work experience in a mineral processing plant.
- Previous experience in the mining industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Maintenance processes.
- Strong technical writing skills.
Skills & Strengths, We Value:
- Proficiency in computer applications and software, specifically MS Office, Oracle, AutoCAD.
- Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills
- Well organized, works well independently and in team settings, possesses good time-management skills, and is able to work effectively under pressure
- Strong understanding in electrical network (low, medium and high voltage), North American and European standards, process control architecture and deployment on large projects.
