We are currently seeking a Technical Coordinator, Maintenance to work within the Maintenance, Repairs & Energy Department in Stellarton, Nova Scotia. As a Technical Coordinator, you will report to the Manager, Maintenance Solution Centre and represent the Maintenance Solution Centre by providing superior customer service and knowledgeable technical support. You will be the subject matter expert (SME) for technical issues involving the following areas: Refrigeration, HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical.
You will ensure that stores receive timely and quality service from external providers on all maintenance and repair issues, utilizing maintenance software. You will remotely access store control and management systems to adjust settings and triage high priority issues. You will work to deliver customer oriented solutions at the lowest sustainable total cost of ownership and actively contribute to a positive and productive working environment. Please Note: Individuals in this role must be flexible to work varying shifts in a 24-hour, seven day-a-week call centre environment.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Respond to store calls and electronic work orders requesting maintenance and repair services, and initiate service requests with appropriate service contractors based on the severity of the issue and response action required
- Remotely adjust building control and management systems, maintaining standards for store settings such as temperature and lighting, as well as triaging related work order issues.
- Respond to any technical questions and issues, both on-site and over the phone, involving any of the following: Refrigeration, HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical
- Assist stores through emergency situations, as per Company policies, and provide expertise on Occupational Health and Safety measures as a top priority
- Coordinate service deliveries, preventative maintenance schedules and quality assurance from our vendors
- Track incidents through to resolution, monitoring for accuracy of service details, rates invoiced, and satisfactory completion of the work
- Maintain data integrity of systems and archives through collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Manage and complete change requests to update store, asset and vendor information in the database
- Provide support on sustainability tracking and reporting of utility and refrigerant use, as well as waste diversion
- Make recommendations to address problems and improve the level of service the Maintenance Solution Centre provides to stores
- Assist and support team members to achieve technical and customer service goals
Job Requirements
Required
- Post-secondary education in a related field, trade certificate, or equivalent experience
- Professional designation in any of the following: Refrigeration, HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical
- Working knowledge of building control and management systems
- Ability to respond to rapidly changing needs in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer focus and the ability to work in a team setting
- Excellent oral and written business communication skills
- Effective time management and problem solving skills
- Flexible to work varying shifts in a 24-hour, seven day-a-week call centre environment
Preferred
- Strong expertise in refrigeration systems, with a background as a refrigeration technician and a subject matter expert in refrigeration maintenance and repairs.
- Experience in a retail environment
- Experience in a similar role, with responsibility for maintenance
