The City of Port Coquitlam is looking for an energetic, results orientated individual to join the Information Technology team as the Project Implementation Specialist. This role will cover a portfolio that provides an equal mix of project management, business analysis and software support to the organization. The Project Implementation Specialist is instrumental in researching, planning, selecting, implementing and supporting complex enterprise application systems projects as well as aligning business processes and developing system interfaces for the organization.
Some of the key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Provides advice, assistance and recommendation to all City department staff on technical matters related to all City software and hardware systems; reviews and recommends software and hardware under consideration for acquisition.
- Investigates deficiencies with systems and proposes solutions. Prepares needs assessments and researches appropriate solutions.
- Assists various City departments in the preparation of project plans/schedules, reports and budgets. Tracks and monitors all deliverables, calendars, meetings as necessary.
- Coordinates the installation of new software and hardware systems.
- Works with vendors and other system suppliers to maximize the system and corporate efficiency and effectiveness.
- Supports other members of the Information Services team by cross training, backfilling, and working jointly on projects.
- Liaises and communicates with internal and external stake holders as necessary.
- Updates all documentation related to work as necessary.
- Performs related work as required.
The successful candidate for this position will have:
- A university degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning solutions or other enterprise systems in a mid-sized business environment, preferably Unit4 (Agresso) and/or Tempest
- A minimum of five (5) years’ of directly related work experience including supervision, data analysis and systems support preferably in Local Government
- A background in leading projects and successfully implementing systems and processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Emotional intelligence and an ability to build strong relationships at all levels
- A commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement
- Leadership aspirations and big picture thinking
- A positive and fun attitude
