A Canadian leader in innovative nuclear waste management, supply and manufacturing of handling and shielding systems, CCNuclear Inc. (“CCN”) is ISO 9001 and N299.2 certified and recognized for its exemplary commitment to safety and quality. CCN specializes in the design, fabrication, installation, and operation of comprehensive waste management solutions for the nuclear industry. In March 2025, the company acquired the Abraflex facility located in Paisley, Bruce County, Ontario. This strategic acquisition reinforces CCN’s commitment to expanding its presence in Canada and broadening its service offerings to better support the nuclear sector, which now also include expertise in radiological environments, including custom enclosures, protective suits, laundry services, and most importantly, innovative decontamination solutions.

Position Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations at the CCNuclear facility in Paisley, Bruce County, ensuring seamless integration with CCN's existing operations.
  • Implement CCN's safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory compliance procedures (ISO 9001, CSA N299.2).
  • Manage production schedules, resource allocation, and operational efficiency metrics.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and service delivery.

Integration & Transition Management:

  • Lead the post-acquisition integration of Abraflex systems, processes, and culture into CCN's framework.
  • Harmonize operational procedures while preserving valuable Abraflex capabilities and expertise.
  • Manage change management initiatives to ensure smooth transition for all stakeholders.

Team Leadership:

  • Direct and develop existing CCNuclear staff while implementing CCN's organizational structure.
  • Build high-performing teams aligned with CCN's safety-first culture and quality standards.
  • Oversee hiring, training, and retention strategies for critical technical positions.

Financial & Performance Management:

  • Achieve operational targets and KPIs established during the acquisition.
  • Manage facility budget, cost controls, and profitability metrics.
  • Report regularly to CCN’s executive leadership on operational performance and integration progress.

Stakeholder Relations:

  • Serve as primary liaison with local community, Indigenous groups, and regional authorities.
  • Maintain relationships with existing Abraflex clients during transition period.
  • Coordinate with CCN's business development team on new opportunities leveraging expanded capabilities.

Regulatory & Compliance:

  • Ensure all operations meet Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) requirements.
  • Maintain facility licenses and permits in good standing.
  • Implement CCN's environmental, health, and safety management systems.
  • Conduct market analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the Canadian nuclear sector, with emphasis on waste management, decommissioning, and isotope-related services.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between CCN and key stakeholders, including electric utilities, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), Indigenous communities, and private sector partners.
  • Represent CCN at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events related to nuclear waste management, decommissioning, and national energy strategies.
  • Contribute to the strategic positioning and operational integration of CCN's new facility in Paisley, Bruce County, Ontario; collaborate with site managers and project teams to ensure alignment with broader business development and contract execution objectives.

Employment Conditions: Temporary full-time position (37.50 hours per week).

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or related field required.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in the nuclear and/or oil and gas industries.
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated expertise in business development and operations management.
  • Proven track record in proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and project delivery with government entities.
  • International business experience across multiple regulatory jurisdictions preferred.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and driving revenue growth in highly regulated environments.
