The Opportunity
The PSC is seeking an Indigenous Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) in a 1-year term opportunity.
HRBPs serve as trusted advisors to senior leaders to enable sound human resource management practices and decisions. Leveraging in-depth consultation, influential communication, and strong business relationships, our HRBPs ensure alignment between clients' business operations, human resource practices, and strategic objectives.
As a Human Resource Business Partner, you will:
- Take initiative to learn your clients' business and proactively offer targeted strategies to address evolving human resource needs;
- Serve as the primary strategic human resource contact for your assigned client portfolio, fostering trusted and respectful partnerships;
- Provide high-level expertise and support human resource capacity building for Executive Directors and their teams, with a focus on inclusive leadership;
- Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to provide innovative culturally-informed solutions and best practice advice; and
- Work closely with team members on projects and/or committees to advance Public Service Commission initiatives.
Ideal Candidate
Our Indigenous candidate is an agile, confident professional who is able to:
- Draw upon their human resource experience and knowledge to strategically and proactively align human resource plans to support the achievement of ministry goals;
- Listen actively and objectively to understand facts and pertinent information for effective consulting;
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate possible outcomes;
- Analyze, interpret, and research information to develop innovative solutions to meet clients’ shifting priorities; and
- Interpret policies, collective bargaining agreements, and other legislation.
This role leverages your human resource knowledge and experience obtained through a combination of education and/or work experience such as:
- Human resource generalist experience in organizational development, employee and labour relations, talent management, and talent attraction; or
- Post-secondary education in human resource management (including any applicable degrees, diplomas or certificates).
- A CPHR, IPMA, or equivalent designation would be an asset.
