Position Summary :
The Senior Consultant is responsible for:
- Providing support and leadership for risk management throughout the organization
- Managing the legal claims administration process and related correspondence with hospital insurer, adjuster and legal counsel
- Providing advice and consultation to internal stakeholders in response to risk inquiries
- Coordinating risk management and enterprise risk management projects/initiatives such as the Risk Assessment Checklist (RAC) process and the Enterprise Risk Management Plan)
- Development, implementation and review of policies and processes required to reduce risk within the organization
- Participation on corporate committees and working groups from a risk management perspective
- Other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor degree in Business or Health Services Administration or a health related discipline (preferred)
- Certification in healthcare risk management and/or patient safety (preferred)
- Previous experience in a large-scale health care setting preferably in risk management, patient safety and/or quality management
- Interest and ability to acquire and perform new skills
- Demonstrated problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks and time demands
- Superior judgment, tact and diplomacy including proven meeting and group facilitation skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills including the ability to present information to large groups
- Demonstrated computer literacy and proficiency including all Microsoft applications
- Experience with data analysis measurement and techniques
- Collaborating with quality, safety and patient experience teams to ensure risk initiatives align with the hospital’s quality improvement goals, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
