Senior Software Designer/Developer (Cloud Migration & Modernization) Location: Calgary
We are seeking a Senior Software Designer/Developer with 10+ years of experience to lead cloud migration and application modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Azure, microservices, and cloud-native architectures, with experience modernizing enterprise applications and databases.
Must-Have Skills Software design and development experience Strong Java, J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot development Hands-on experience with Azure cloud migration and modernization Expertise in Microservices, REST APIs, Docker, Linux, and DevOps Strong database experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL Front-end development using JavaScript and React
Key Responsibilities Lead application assessment, remediation, and migration to Azure Design and develop scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications Modernize legacy applications using microservices and containerization Optimize databases and support Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migrations Develop APIs, backend services, and responsive UI components Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and performance optimization Collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor developers, and support production systems
Preferred Skills Experience with Selenium and REST Assured Knowledge of cloud security, observability, scalability, and resiliency Experience with Agile/DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration skills
