Recreation Therapist required for seniors' living facility.
Green Acres Foundation is seeking a team-oriented multi-tasker who is flexible, enthusiastic, has great leadership skills, and a positive attitude to help as a Recreation Therapist at our facility in Picture Butte, Alberta.
Does this sound like you? If it is, you will perform duties that require considerable confidentiality, initiative, tact, and independent judgement. We are a self-motivated bunch who finds coming to work fun, so strong interpersonal and organizational skills are a MUST.
Basic Responsibilities of the position include:
- Co-ordinating, planning, and implementing programs and recreation-based treatment activities for senior residents based on their needs.
- Leading, motivating, and assuming responsibility for residents in a variety of individual and group therapy programs, both in the facility and in the community.
- Consulting with the Manager in the selection of activities most appropriate to meet the residents' needs and abilities, based on individual care plans.
- Recruiting, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating volunteers in assigned programs.
Requirements for the position:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and spoken English.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering data.
- Diploma or degree in Therapeutic Recreation
- Minimum 2 years' experience in related recreational field preferred.
- Current and on-going satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
- Valid Class 4 driver's license.
- Current satisfactory driver's abstract
- Current claims experience letter
- First Aid certification is an asset
