A Teaching Chef's job duties include demonstrating the proper techniques to prepare food, showing students how to use kitchen equipment, and teaching a variety of recipes. You may also develop lesson plans and collaborate with other teachers.
Frank Hurt Secondary School is located in the Newton area of Surrey with a student population of 1500 students and growing. This dynamic school's culture is focused on student-centred engagement and success. A FlexTIME model is built into the bell schedule on a daily basis to facilitate our extensive program options which reflect the diverse needs of our school. We offer a variety of programming to cater to the growth of our student body including a robust Culinary Arts and Teaching Chef program and a vibrant and diverse Aboriginal program. Other programs include the District's Carpentry and Automotive programs, Lifeskills program, Careers-COOP's - Fine & Performing Arts - Stingworks Productions, BASES, Leadership and a comprehensive Athletics program.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Education (Elementary or Secondary) degree, or equivalent training
- Valid BC Teaching Certificate
- Red Seal Certification required

Salary range is $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service, FTE and qualifications in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
