Location: Brampton, Ontario
Job Description Job Summary: Wage: $27.62 per hour Temporary Role: May 2026 - September 2027 The Engineering Solutions Co-op Student will assist with various projects and tasks within the distribution and industrial engineering departments. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in warehouse design, process optimization, and technology implementation.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Update and maintain documentation for standardized workflows and procedures.
- Assist with warehouse reconfiguration initiatives and support the implementation of new material handling technologies.
- Analyze current warehouse technology and assist in developing recommendations for improvements.
- Participate in the development of productivity standards using time study methods.
- Support ongoing facility maintenance programs, including racking inspections and safety checks.
- Assist in the research and documentation of advanced warehouse automation systems.
- Contribute to process improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing costs within the distribution network.
- Provide support for the creation and analysis of operational strategies focusing on safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications
- Currently enrolled in an Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related program.
- Familiarity with basic concepts of warehouse and distribution operations is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel and MS Office; experience with AutoCAD is an advantage but not required.
- An understanding of LEAN principles or Six Sigma methodologies is beneficial but not essential.
Competencies
- Ability to accurately maintain documentation and follow safety procedures.
- Capable of analyzing processes and systems to recommend improvements.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with various stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This role can be based out of any of our 3 distributions centres across Canada:
