About the role

One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.

We are currently seeking 1 FTE Manager of Finance, as a valuable member of the Norwest Community Health Centre team, implements and monitors the Centre’s financial systems and is a resource to the Chief Executive Officer, the management team and staff in their respective responsibilities for management of NorWest Community Health Centres funds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree from a relevant discipline
  • Professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA)
  • Three to five years progressive financial management experience
  • Preferred experience working in a non-profit organization; preferably in a health setting.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with relevant legislation and practices including income tax, charity and GST.
  • Ability to prepare professional reports with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications.
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-directed with strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel to sites.
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license is required
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within populations who face barriers to accessing care (under housed, living with mental health diagnosis or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQIA+, newcomers, non-insured).
