Your Team:
Join the In-Flight Operations team at Flair as a Flight Attendant, a dedicated professional with a passion for ensuring passenger safety, comfort, and an exceptional travel experience. In this role, you will deliver outstanding customer service, provide clear and confident safety instructions, and support the smooth operation of each flight, working closely with the flight crew and cabin team. The Flight Attendant will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, adapting to irregular schedules across multiple time zones, managing sleep pattern changes, and responding effectively to in-flight situations while maintaining composure and professionalism. You will play a key role in creating a safe and enjoyable experience for passengers while upholding operational standards and regulatory compliance. Reporting to the Senior Manager, In-Flight Operations, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and fellow crew members, bringing strong interpersonal skills, situational awareness, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and motivated by the challenge of delivering seamless, memorable travel experiences. This position involves travel across Flair Airlines’ network, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
This position is based at our Toronto (YYZ) crew base.
A Day in the Life:
As a Flight Attendant, you will:
- Ensure the safety, comfort, and overall well-being of all passengers throughout their travel experience.
- Work closely with the captain and flight crew to facilitate a smooth, safe, and enjoyable flight for everyone on board.
- Deliver in-flight service, including the sale of onboard products such as beverages, snacks, and meals.
- Remain calm, patient, and composed, effectively managing challenges while working independently or as part of a team in high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrate a safety-first mindset, coupled with a positive attitude and flexibility to adapt to operational needs.
- Maintain an active, visible presence in the cabin, providing friendly, professional, and timely assistance to passengers.
- Uphold cabin cleanliness standards during flights and perform post-flight cabin grooming as required.
- Consistently deliver exceptional customer service across all aspects of the onboard experience.
- Perform additional in-flight duties as assigned to support safe and efficient operations.
What You Bring to the Role:
The preferred candidate should exemplify Flair's core values of honesty, efficiency, accountability, and respect, while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:
-Education:
- Minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Additional education or certifications in in-flight services, hospitality, or customer service are an asset. -Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years of customer service experience in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
- Experience handling customer concerns or emergencies with professionalism and composure is an asset.
- Background in hospitality, travel, or tourism is beneficial.
- Prior experience as a Flight Attendant is preferred but not required. -Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while taking initiative to achieve results and enhance the in-flight experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional relationships, demonstrate respect, and take ownership of performance gaps.
- Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including the use of de-escalation techniques and assertive communication when required.
- Professional and polished presentation that reflects individuality while aligning with Flair’s vision, mission, and values.
- Demonstrated resilience, a positive attitude, and a proactive approach to improving situations and achieving desired outcomes.
- Innovative problem-solving skills, applying strategies that enhance performance and drive results.
- Understanding of Flair’s vision, with the ability to promote products and services to support sales outcomes and overall success. -Requirements:
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Must hold a valid Canadian passport and be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Must be able to reach 201 cm (79 inches) flat-footed without shoes.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from the floor to waist and 22 lbs overhead.
- Must reside within 90 minutes of the assigned crew base or be willing to relocate.
- Must be fluent in English; proficiency in French or other languages is considered an asset.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call (reserve) assignments.
- Must be willing and able to travel on short notice and work across multiple time zones.
- Must successfully complete a five-week initial Flight Attendant training program and maintain all required recurrent training certifications.
- Must pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test.
- Must provide a clear criminal record check and satisfactory professional references.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
