- Strengthen and streamline accounting controls, systems, and procedures to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Support the preparation and review of financial statements, MD&A, parent company reporting, and other key financial deliverables across multiple entities.
- Partner with teams across the organization to provide accounting guidance under US GAAP and regulatory frameworks.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle, ensuring alignment with regulatory filings and consistency with actual results.

- Participate in quarterly and annual audits, manage auditor requests, and ensure adherence to SOX controls.
- Maintain and govern the chart of accounts, ensuring compliance with internal policies and BCUC directives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, including hiring, training, performance management, and workload planning.
What it takes:
- A degree in Business or Commerce plus a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA).
- At least 5 years of experience in financial accounting or reporting; experience in a regulated utility environment is an asset.
- Strong technical accounting skills, ideally with experience in SAP.
- Solid understanding of regulatory processes and rate‑regulated environments.
