Are you ready to lead technical excellence in high voltage projects? As a Project / Product Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of our growth strategy, acting as the key technical interface between our customers and internal teams. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring project success, driving innovation, and enhancing customer satisfaction. This is a unique opportunity to work on complex, custom-engineered solutions while collaborating with experts across disciplines.
How you’ll make an impact
- Provide technical guidance to the project execution team.
- Lead technical initiatives such as control design and product qualification.
- Act as the technical liaison between engineering teams and customers.
- Coordinate technical information flow to meet project requirements.
- Represent the company in customer progress reviews and address technical inquiries.
- Analyze client requirements and resolve engineering challenges.
- Conduct engineering analysis including design, calculations, and equipment selection.
- Prepare technical plans and risk mitigation strategies for project kick-offs.
- Review and support technical change proposals and cost estimates.
- Maintain documentation to support contractual variation claims.
- Manage technical documents, issues, budgets, and schedules.
- Oversee third-party contractors to ensure equipment compliance.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power).
- 6–10 years of experience in power projects.
- Strong expertise in control circuit design.
- Experience with electrical systems, high voltage equipment, transformers, and switchgear.
- Knowledge of protection and control systems (asset).
- Proven leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in custom engineering environments.
- Proficient in engineering software (AutoCAD, EPlan, etc.).
- Familiarity with standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE, CSA).
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Process-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Results-driven and goal-oriented.
- Bilingual (French and English).
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
