This is an opportunity to join a forward-looking multi-year Investment Platform transformation program designed to deliver a modernized target operating model. The initiative will drive end-to-end modernization of technology and data capabilities, enabling streamlined processes, enhanced scalability, and improved decision-making across investment, operations, and finance teams.
The Transformation Office is accountable for all aspects of program delivery including Program and Project Management, Change Management & Communications, Transformation Design and Delivery, and Data Enablement.
We believe that time together in the office is important for OMERS and Oxford, the strength of our employees, and the work we do for our pension members. Our hybrid work guideline requires teams to come to the office a minimum of 4 days per week.
This is a T4 Direct Fixed Term contract with OMERS (not for Incorporated/Hourly rate)
Scope Of Position As a Senior Business Analyst for the Data Management work stream, you will play a critical role in delivering our transformation objectives for the Investment Data Operations team, who manages all aspects of security master development and support activities across capital market asset classes and geographies. Reporting to the Middle Office Transformation Lead of the Transformation Office, you will lead data requirements definition and analysis activities, work closely with data owners, data custodians and consumers to ensure accuracy and data quality standards are met across multiple asset classes for capital markets and investment portfolios.
You will also support testing, implementation and integration across systems and workflows with Aladdin platform. This role requires a strong understanding of the end-to-end data life cycle, from order entry, data sourcing, integration across systems, lineage and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Investment Data Operations team to document data requirements, process workflows and mapping to stand up data management capabilities as part of the Aladdin onboarding.
- Apply technical proficiency in investment applications to support key stakeholders and business partners in Investments, Risk, and Performance, etc. to enable and develop new data requirements for Aladdin implementation.
- Document operational processes, workflows, business process modelling and metadata cataloguing.
- Review and validate data attributes across public and private securities, with strong understanding of the valuation policy, methodologies and data quality.
- Liaise with project managers and workstream leads to provide accurate and timely status tracking and reporting to ensure successful project delivery; identify and proactively address potential risks and issues related to technology, process, and organizational changes.
- Facilitate workshops and design sessions with business and technology stakeholders to map future-state operating models and processes; collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute test cases for the testing process and participate in defect management and resolution.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: University degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), are highly desirable.
- Experience: 6+ years’ experience as a Senior Business Analyst, with a strong knowledge of data operations, middle and or back offices, and public and private securities.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with implementing and supporting securities data domains, such as reference data, market data, risk analytics, etc.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to resolve data issues with vendors and internal systems.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills with interactions with portfolio managers, operations, and performance teams on data requirements and solutions.
- Learning & Curiosity: Strong intellectual curiosity and adaptability to changing investment and technology environments.
