Since 1996, Loonie Times Custom Mascots & Plush has produced over 6,000 custom mascots and plush characters for brands around the world. About Role
Loonie Times is seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager Operations to oversee end-to-end manufacturing and operational activities for our custom mascot design and production business. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, production efficiency, quality control, workforce management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience in the garment, apparel, textile, costume, or related manufacturing industries is highly preferred due to the transferable skills in production planning, fabrication, sewing operations, quality management, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management Oversee all production and operational activities. Ensure efficient workflow, productivity, and timely delivery of products. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance. Resource planning and allocation to run smooth operation to meet sales target.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop production and operations teams. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence. Support workforce planning and performance management.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure products meet company quality standards and customer expectations. Maintain compliance with health, safety, and workplace regulations. Implement corrective actions to address operational issues.
Production Planning & Inventory
Oversee production scheduling and resource allocation. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material requirements. Develop best practices to improve operations efficiency.
Strategic & Financial Management
Manage operational budgets and control costs. Track key performance metrics and prepare management reports. Identify opportunities for operational growth and process optimization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related field.
- 10–12 years of progressive experience in operations and production management within the garment/apparel manufacturing industry.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role managing large production teams.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, quality control, and supply chain operations.
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence initiatives is preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Skills & Competencies

- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Budgeting and cost-control expertise.

Ugh! I know, I know, another boring “about us” page from a company trying to convince you to give them your money over the other guys, using the same boring phrases that everybody uses. Did I say boring already? Cause BORING! Listen, I’m really more of an “our work speaks for itself” kind of Dragon-Wolf (yes, I am both a Dragon and a Wolf, I’m also a Knight too in case you were wondering), and I've been producing the world’s most lovable mascots since 1996. So let me tell you a little about me, our process, and why you want us to bring your character to life. In 1996 I started Loonie Times Custom Mascots. Since then, I've worked with major companies like Kellogg’s, Kraft Foods, Home Depot, Mars Food, etc. and about a billion schools (so…many…cat…mascots). I've even created some mascots for your children’s favorite television shows (Clifford, My Little Pony, Super Why and more) and worked with businesses, just looking for a little cost effective fun with their advertising. But enough about them and more about me! I’m not JUST a Dragon-Wolf-Knight and all around awesome guy, I’m also an artist. I love to create, and I love purple if you hadn't noticed. I just had all of these characters in my head that I wanted to bring to life! The only problem was, I’m not that talented at drawing, or carving, or stitching… I knew I needed a team! A team so talented, they could draw whatever crazy characters that I could think of, then take that drawing and build a full body costume from it using the best foams and fabrics so that their quality would last! I needed a team that can bring any custom character to life, and I assembled that team. Are you thinking of bringing a character to life?
