Haven Studios is a game development studio headquartered in Montreal. In May 2021, we embarked on a journey to start Haven as a small team with big ambitions. Our goal was to build a studio of exceptional people where together we could make the kind of games we’ve always wanted to create – games we’ve longed to play. Haven joined the PlayStation Studios family as the first Sony game development team in Canada in 2022. Our first game is in development for PlayStation and PC, a competitive multiplayer action heist game with a vision to entertain and engage players for years to come. Position – Senior Level Designer We are looking for an experienced Senior Level Designer to join the Haven Entertainment Studios project team. The Senior Level Designer will have end-to-end responsibility for PVP and Interiors, crafting exceptional experiences for the player and supporting the overall design vision for the game. You will collaborate closely with several disciplines across the team and leverage your passion for design to inspire those around you, using feedback and data to create fun and challenging content. Reporting The Senior Level Designer will report to the Producer. Responsibilities and Duties Design, implement and iterate on PVP Sandbox and interior levels. Work with the design team to prioritize features, validate the game’s quality, and ensure the timely delivery of tasks. Assess gameplay and flow to ensure desired player experience is achieved. Use feedback and data to maintain and drive the continual development of level content. Review work and provide constructive feedback. Assist with the design and development of custom level editing tools and basic scripting. Work closely across disciplines on all aspects of the development process to ensure design vision is realized. Collaborate with the team at large to resolve design challenges. Fix design bugs. Experience and Skills Required 5+ years experience in related role.Shipped at least one AAA console title. Map creation process and architecture knowledge. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to review and assess levels against design criteria. A good awareness of the flow and pace of a game.Experience balancing gameplay systems. Knowledge of level editing tools and scripting languages. Good documentation skills and attention to detail.Excellent collaboration skills and at ease communicating design ideas and concepts across all disciplines. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Unreal level editing tools and scripting languages.Familiarity with 3D modelling tools. Haven Studios makes accessible apps for the Microsoft Windows Phone. HavenStudios.Net develops Apps and Tablet apps for the Windows brand of devices.
We think we can empower our employees to focus on their skillsets that best fit the job. We will be expanding into Tablet and other markets which best fit our future goals.
We created a new company from the ground floor. Located and obtained funding to continue development of Windows Phone products which are now in the Beta Testing stage. We will soon have two new products released through our Windows Phone store.
We moved from an LLC to a Studio. This was easier, while still grouping our efforts on one studio.
We have built 7 apps for the Windows 7 & 8 Phone. Built a Tablet version of these apps which is a combined ePub/study aide for the blind.
Released two Commercial apps under Windows and Android phones and devices.
We have recently expanded into Android devices, focused on the Unity Engine.
