Position Summary
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the oversight of all housekeeping operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest readiness across all rooms and public areas. This role assists in leading the housekeeping team, coordinating daily operations, and working closely with internal departments to ensure efficient room turnover and seamless service delivery. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager plays a key role in maintaining quality standards, supporting team development, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience through a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service Support the maintenance of all guest rooms and public areas to ensure they meet Cabot’s luxury cleanliness and presentation standards Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and housekeeping-related concerns Assist with VIP room preparations, special requests, and arrival readiness to enhance the guest experience Operations & Department Oversight Support daily housekeeping operations, including room assignments, inspections, and turnover efficiency Assist in ensuring all rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are clean, organized, and guest-ready Coordinate with Front Office to support timely room availability and accurate room status updates Help monitor housekeeping productivity and operational efficiency Assist with managing inventory levels for linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies to ensure availability and cost control Team Leadership Support the supervision, coaching, and development of housekeeping team members, including supervisors and attendants Assist with onboarding, training, and performance management to maintain service and cleanliness standards Reinforce workplace safety standards, policies, and procedures Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment Administrative & Reporting Assist with scheduling, staffing coordination, and payroll support based on occupancy and operational needs Complete and maintain daily reports including room status, productivity, and maintenance issues Maintain accurate records, logs, and communication with leadership and other departments
Qualifications
Previous experience in housekeeping operations within a hotel or resort environment, with an understanding of luxury cleanliness and presentation standards Experience supporting housekeeping functions including room inspections, turnover, and public area maintenance Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemical use (WHMIS), and health and safety standards Experience with inventory management, linen programs, and housekeeping supply controls Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within a hospitality environment Ability to coordinate effectively with Front Office and Maintenance to support timely room readiness and issue resolution Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Skills & Competencies
