Position Summary
The Business Systems Analyst acts as the bridge between business needs and technology solutions, helping teams improve processes and implement systems that support company goals. A key focus is owning and enhancing Yardi, including configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, integrations, and user support. The role also coordinates technology projects, documents requirements, analyzes data, and translates technical information into clear guidance for internal teams. Overall, this position ensures our systems remain reliable, efficient, and aligned with organizational needs. This role reports to the Director, Technology.
Position Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

Act as the liaison between business units and IT, translating business needs into functional and technical requirements.

Conduct interviews, workshops, and process reviews to identify challenges, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

Document current-state and future-state workflows, data flows, and system interactions.

Analyze business processes and recommend system enhancements, automation, or new tools to support operational efficiency.
Yardi Platform Ownership

Serve as the secondary system administrator and business owner for Yardi (Voyager, RentCafe, CRM, PayScan, etc.).

Coordinate and execute Yardi upgrades, module implementations, configuration changes, and feature rollouts.
-
Maintain master data integrity, security roles, user access, and system governance.
-
Troubleshoot issues, liaise with Yardi support, and manage vendor relations.

Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, and configuration standards for Yardi processes.
Project Management
-
Plan, lead, and execute technology improvement projects from initiation through deployment, including Yardi-related initiatives.

Perform cost-benefit and ROI analyses for proposed system changes or new technologies.

Manage project timelines, risks, budgets, scope, and stakeholder expectations.

Coordinate testing cycles, user acceptance testing (UAT), and successful go-live transitions.

Prepare project documentation, training materials, and post-implementation reviews.

Lead integration efforts between Yardi and other enterprise systems.
Stakeholder & Communications Management

Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.

Build strong relationships with internal teams to understand needs, pain points, and improvement opportunities.

Facilitate meetings, prepare reports, and present findings or recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders.

Provide training and support for system users, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes or tools.
Reporting & Analytics

Assist business units in developing dashboards, reports, and KPIs related to Yardi and other technology systems.

Ensure data accuracy, standardization, and availability for decision-making.

Identify opportunities for data automation, workflow enhancements, and system integration.
Experience & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience: 3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role
-
Direct, hands-on experience with Yardi (Voyager 7S or 8) strongly preferred.
-
Experience with SQL, data analysis, and reporting tools (Power BI, Excel, etc.) is an asset.
-
Experience in real estate, property management, hospitality, or development industries is an asset.
-
Proven experience delivering technology or business process improvement projects.
-
Experience overseeing multi-site technology operations in hospitality, real estate, or related industries is considered an asset.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

High attention to detail and a process-driven mindset.

Collaborative, customer-focused, and comfortable working with diverse teams.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with Microsoft 365 ecosystem; exposure to hospitality and POS platforms (e.g., Square, Lightspeed, TouchBistro) is highly valued.
Additional Information
This full-time salaried position works 8:30 am - 5:00 pm in the office, Monday through Friday and is in downtown Vancouver.
