Job Title: Business Analyst Location: Regina, SK (Hybrid) Client: Public Sector Duration: 12+ Months (Possible Extension) Req ID: RFS 1018949
Role Overview SaskPower is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support enterprise software implementation, enhancement, and modernization initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, solution architects, developers, and third-party vendors to gather business requirements, analyze business processes, develop functional specifications, and lead testing activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The role requires strong expertise in requirements elicitation, business process modeling, stakeholder management, testing (UAT/SIT), documentation, and organizational change management, along with excellent communication and facilitation skills.
Preferred Experience 2–3+ years of experience working within Utilities, Energy, or Public Sector organizations. Experience supporting enterprise software implementation and enhancement projects. Experience working in Agile and Waterfall environments.
Mandatory Requirements (Pass / Fail) Failure to meet or provide proof of the following requirements may result in disqualification. CBAP Certification Valid Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification or equivalent. PROSCI Certification Valid PROSCI (ADKAR) Change Management certification. Education Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Business Analyst Experience Minimum 5+ years of Business Analysis experience supporting software development, implementation, or enhancement projects. Skills & Experience (Scored Criteria) Business Analysis & Requirements Management (10 Points) Minimum 5 years of experience performing Business Analysis activities including: Requirements Elicitation Requirements Analysis Requirements Management Functional & Non-Functional Requirements Use Case Development Acceptance Criteria Stakeholder Collaboration Response must include at least 2–3 project examples demonstrating Business Analysis experience.
Business Process Analysis & Modeling (10 Points) Minimum 5 years of experience in: Business Process Analysis Business Process Modeling (BPMN) Process Mapping Gap Analysis Journey Mapping Business Process Improvement Response must include project examples with duration.
Testing & Quality Assurance (10 Points) Minimum 5 years of experience in: User Acceptance Testing (UAT) System Integration Testing (SIT) Test Strategy Test Planning Test Scenario Development Test Case Development Manual Test Execution Defect Management Must include project examples demonstrating testing leadership.
SDLC & Software Delivery (10 Points) Minimum 5 years of experience supporting: Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Agile Scrum Waterfall Solution Assessment & Validation Software Implementation Projects System Enhancement Projects Must include project examples. Stakeholder Management & Workshop Facilitation (10 Points) Minimum 5 years of experience: Facilitating Requirements Workshops Stakeholder Management Cross-functional Collaboration Business & IT Communication Documentation Reviews Knowledge Transfer
