Do you have forecasting analysis experience related to asset management? We are looking for a Planner to join our team!

What You Will Do

Join us in shaping the future through data-driven asset and lifecycle analysis. This position is responsible for continually assessing the relevance of the various tools, processes, methodologies and reporting practices under TTC’s asset management strategy and recommending and implementing changes as necessary to reflect the changing dynamics in our Plant Maintenance Department.

In this role, you'll be instrumental in forecasting, supporting departmental planning, and preparing key reports and communications. You'll lead the implementation of new policies and systems and collaborate closely with staff and unionized employees to drive initiatives forward. Your work will involve coordinating cross-departmental projects, maintaining detailed project logs, and ensuring compliance with safety and audit standards.

This role involves supporting the oversight of operations, budgets, and asset management for ongoing repair and rehabilitation projects. You'll collaborate across cost centers to align service levels, optimize resource allocation, and manage competing stakeholder needs. Key responsibilities include planning and scheduling initiatives with consideration for operational constraints, resolving resource conflicts, and enhancing service delivery timelines. You'll also lead efforts in implementing asset management technologies like MAXIMO LAM and GIS, prepare production schedules, and maintain status reports. Acting as a liaison across departments, you'll ensure documentation aligns with corporate goals and contribute to continuous improvement in business practices related to preventative and corrective maintenance. You will also participate in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

  • Your educational background will consist of a degree in engineering or a related discipline, backed by real-world project management experience in the construction sector.
  • Your application will demonstrate that you have project planning and asset management experience in the transit and municipal industry.
  • Experience with asset management principles and theories, along with demonstrated asset management experience and tools.
  • Asset management experience in preventative and corrective maintenance within the railway/transportation industry along with industry accepted training courses.
  • Experience in the analysis of infrastructure, infrastructure planning and its operations including forecasting analysis.
  • Technical knowledge of the transit infrastructure network and associated construction/repair activities, and knowledge of Capital and Operating budgeting process are assets.
  • Knowledge of asset management principles, infrastructure and rehabilitation methods.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies (e.g. Occupational Health & Safety Act, environmental compliance, etc)
  • Strong organizational, administrative, interpersonal, verbal communications, and technical report writing skills.
  • Sound judgement; strong analytical, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers, including the MS Office Suite, MS Project scheduling software applications, database concepts and advanced use of spreadsheet automation.
  • Possession of a valid, non-probationary, Class “G” or better Province of Ontario Driver’s License is considered an asset.
