About the role

This role is on-site at the WestJet/Sunwing Vacations offices located near Toronto Pearson Airport. The standard schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Overview of role:

Reporting to the Physical Security Lead, theCoordinator - Physical Securityis a key player in the daily operations of our Toronto (YYZ) Campus. You will act as the first point of contact for guests, while working hand-in-hand with contracted security guards, and remotely with our team at the Calgary (YYC) Campus Welcome Desk. This role is a unique blend of high-level reception and technical security administration. You’ll be the "face" of security in the building while managing the access control in the operation—facilitating access control by managing ID badging for the WestJet Group in YYZ, in consort with the YYC Welcome Desk and Physical Security at all facilities across Canada.

Key deliverables include:

  • Operating the Access control systems

  • Operating the Visitor Management System

  • Operating the Closed-Circuit Television system

  • Manage shared inboxes, Microsoft Teams chats, and various process documents

  • Support and work with Group Security (Aviation, Corporate Security and the Corporate Security Support Desk in OCC)

  • Assist in coordinating events and tours of YYZ facilities, as well as all facilities across Canada

  • Assist in the security access control and CCTV setup of new WestJet facilities in the Toronto area

  • Support ID card/badge creation, printing and distribution

  • Support OSH, Physical Security, and facilities with building emergency drills and evacuations at all eastern locations

Experience and qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum of one year of experience within the WestJet Group; experience with Sunwing/Sunwing Vacations considered an asset

  • Familiarity with the WestJet Group’s organizational structure and internal security policies is an advantage

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneNote, and Teams

  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example and uphold all company policies

  • Proven capability in managing conflict and navigating challenging situations or interactions

  • Strong time‑management skills with the ability to meet unexpected or urgent deadlines

  • First Aid certification or training is an asset

  • Fluency in French is considered an asset

  • Positive, enthusiastic, and professional attitude
