About the role
Business Development Manager Precise Commercial Solutions Commercial Cleaning & Facility Services · Cambridge, ON Full-time · Hybrid (field + office) Southwestern Ontario territory
What we're building Precise cleans and maintains the buildings Southwestern Ontario runs on medical facilities, transit facilities, government offices, and the workplaces of some of the region's largest employers. We're a facility services company, but the work comes down to one thing: making a client's building something they never have to think about. We're growing, and we're growing on purpose. Over the next few years we're building Precise into the facility services partner that institutional and mid-market clients in this region actually trust, not the lowest bid, but the one that solves the problem and keeps it solved. That growth has to be led in the market. That's this role.
The role You'll own new business for Precise across Southwestern Ontario. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, you'll build the pipeline, walk the buildings, write the proposals, and close the contracts that take us to double our current size. This is a build role, not a maintain role. You'll have the autonomy to shape the sales strategy and the accountability that comes with it. If you want a defined patch, a script, and a manager watching your activity metrics, this isn't the job. If you want to own a territory and be measured on what you close, keep reading.
A day in the life No two days look the same, but a good one might include: A morning walkthrough at a prospect's facility — sizing up the scope, meeting the people who actually deal with the building every day An afternoon at your desk turning that walkthrough into a proposal, pricing, and scope of work Responding to a municipal, provincial, or healthcare RFP with a real shot at winning it Coffee with a property manager or facility director you've been building a relationship with for months A handoff call with our operations team to start a new account clean because a contract you win is a contract you help land properly
What you'll own New commercial cleaning and facility service contracts across Southwestern Ontario, from first contact to signed agreement A pipeline of property management firms, government agencies, healthcare and educational facilities, and corporate clients RFP, RFQ, and public tender responses across municipal, provincial, and federal opportunities Facility walkthroughs, proposals, pricing, and scope documents Relationships with the people who decide property managers, facility directors, CFOs, and procurement officers Growth inside our existing accounts: floor care, window cleaning, deep cleaning, and related services Straight reporting on pipeline, forecast, and what you're seeing in the market
What you bring 5+ years of business development or sales in commercial cleaning, janitorial, or facility services A track record of winning and growing contracts with real public- and private-sector clients A working understanding of how this industry's pricing works — labour costing, scope, service levels Experience with government RFPs and public procurement (strongly preferred) An established network in property management, healthcare, or government in Southwestern Ontario (a real asset) The discipline to run a full sales cycle on your own, from prospecting to close A valid driver's license and willingness to be in the field across the region Comfort with a CRM, Microsoft Office, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
How we operate We're a small company, which means what you'll actually experience here: We solve the problem, not just the task. Anyone can send a crew. We're building a company clients call first because we make the building someone else's headache go away. The building is our reputation. Every account is a referral waiting to happen or a warning to the next prospect. We treat it that way. You'll deal directly with the owner. No layers, no politics, decisions made fast. When you need a yes, you'll get one or an honest no. We'd rather lose a bid than win one we can't deliver. Growth with discipline. We take on what we can do well. Ownership is real here. You'll shape how we sell and be trusted to run with it.
What success looks like This is a results role, and we're clear about the number. In your first 6 to 9 months, success means generating new annual contract revenue and a pipeline that keeps building behind it. If that energizes you rather than worries you, you're the person we're looking for.
What we offer Competitive salary Commission on first-year contract value for every new deal you close — uncapped. On the revenue targets expected, that means realistic on-target earnings consistently growing Mileage reimbursement for client travel Two weeks paid vacation Direct access to the President & CEO and a genuine seat in shaping the company's growth The chance to be the person who scales this business and to be recognized for it
Location & territory Based in Cambridge/Kitchener/Waterloo/Guelph, covering Southwestern Ontario with a focus on Kitchener–Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Hamilton, and the western GTA. Hybrid: field-based client work paired with office-based planning.
How to apply Send your resume and a short note, not a formal cover letter, telling us about one contract you're proud of winning and how you did it. We read every one. We thank all applicants; only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
