About the role

SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.
Context
You will join SYSTRA Canada as a Financial Analyst, reporting to the Financial Analyst and Internal Projects Manager. This entry-level role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting and finance while contributing to all stages of the financial cycle. Within the Finance Department, you will support the company’s profitability and financial health by providing a variety of financial reports, analyses, and forecasts.
Missions/Main Duties
Month-end and budgeting: support month-end close activities, budget analysis, and financial reporting. Treasury: monitor cash flow, prepare forecasts and monthly reports, process payments, and support accounts receivable follow-up. Order backlog: prepare the monthly order backlog and reconcile it with the CRM. Time and project tracking: follow up on timesheets and approvals, and report on billable and non-billable hours. Tools and procedures: maintain finance tools, support users, and update the Finance intranet and procedures. Finance support: handle finance-related requests and help ensure continuity of administrative and financial operations. Ad hoc: contribute to special projects, FX hedging activities, regulatory reporting, and register maintenance.
Profile/Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Years of experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in similar roles.
Technical Skills
CPA designation or in progress is an asset; at minimum, solid knowledge of accounting. Excellent proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI). Fluent in French (spoken, read, and written). Fluent in English (spoken, read, and written). Experience in the transportation sector is an asset.
Personal Qualities
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. Strong organizational and planning skills. Ability to manage month-end close activities and multiple deadlines. Comfortable coordinating with multiple stakeholders. Methodical, detail-oriented, and proactive.
