**Internal SAP Coordinator (12 month contract)

Location: Burnaby, BC / Hybrid

General Description**

  • The IT Business Decision Support Consultant Level 3 is accountable for gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing business requirements for large and/or complex IT projects while producing high-quality documentation and providing subject matter expertise in one or more key areas to IT teams, business stakeholders, and end-users to contribute to the achievement of organizational objectives.
  • NOTE: Subject matter expertise could be business domain-specific or technology-specific.

Experience And Role Accountabilities

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of business analysis experience in large IT projects in a complex enterprise environment or equivalent.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a team lead or Lead Business Analyst on complex IT implementations, responsible for overseeing the work of other Business Analysts and providing coaching and mentorship.
  • Produce high-quality analysis and documentation such as governance documents, Process Impact Assessments, Process Maps, and Designs, following through on deliverables with stakeholder engagement, reviews, approvals, and signoffs to ensure projects are implemented safely, with quality, within budget, and on time.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and support to other IT BDS Consultants on the project or as part of the BDS function to ensure projects conduct high-quality analysis.
  • May be asked to lead IT BDS Consultants Level 2 on their project.
  • Liaise with internal and external teams, vendors, and system integrators on data migration and system interface activities to ensure dependencies are understood, addressed, and requirements are correctly defined, recorded, and communicated using documents such as Business Requirements, Functional and Non-Functional Requirements, Data Requirements, Business Scenarios, Use Cases and User Stories, Requirements Traceability Matrix, Functional Specifications, and User Interface Specifications.
  • Assist with testing, including creation of test documentation such as Test Plans, Test Scenarios/Scripts, and Test Reports to ensure that business requirements are met.
  • Facilitate and lead collaborative workshops with senior stakeholders, subject matter experts, business and technical stakeholders, and implementation consultants to conduct analysis as part of assigned activities.
  • Assist the Project Manager with communicating complex issues or opportunities to project leadership and senior stakeholders, supporting with resolution.
  • Provide ongoing clarification and support to business stakeholders, users, development, training, and testing teams to ensure correct interpretation of the business requirements and process design.
  • Assist the Project Manager with planning activities for subsequent phases of the project; conduct analysis to inform business case development; contribute to the successful transition to sustainment teams.
  • Support the viability of solution design, ensuring solutions are integrated within future-state processes and satisfy business requirements and project objectives.
  • Conduct impact analysis on changes to designs/scope, record changes in the change log, and communicate to the project team.
  • May be required to participate in or lead change management activities and produce documentation, e.g., Stakeholder Impact Analysis, Change Management Approach, and Training Materials to deliver communication to stakeholders during roll-out activities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in one or more key areas such as specific applications or infrastructure technologies, as applicable to continuously build capability.
  • May provide recommendations on improvements in their area of expertise (identifying process improvement opportunities, informing process designs, integrations, etc.).

Education And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computing Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated business acumen, including an understanding of how business objectives will be met with technology solutions.

  • Expert technical skills in business analysis with the ability to quickly understand the business problem/opportunity, project objectives, and high-level design completed to date. Ability to lead others.

  • Good working knowledge of the following (an asset):

  • Public sector or utilities industry experience

  • Organizational project delivery methodologies

  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, written/oral communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to build effective relationships, manage stakeholder expectations, and influence decisions.

  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Visio.

Work Assignment Requirements

  • Support standards across product areas within the SAP team.
  • Establish a unified operational/delivery management tool in Jira across multiple projects, work programs, and teams to provide visibility of resource requirements over a 3–6 month horizon.
  • Streamline workflow processes within SAP IT and assist in reducing administrative burden for SAP team members.
  • Administration and quality control of multiple delivery initiatives.
  • Assist with human resource management (drafting job postings, scheduling interviews, etc.).
  • Improve transparency to the business regarding work initiatives and their status.
  • Perform any other duties related to supporting the SAP team and Chief Product Owner.
